Presenting Zlatibor in the Middle East

Within the "Enhancing International Cooperation with the Middle East" project, a delegation from the Municipality of Čajetina visited Dubai. Our partners from the destination prepared a comprehensive and diverse program along with meetings.

The objective of the study trip was to present Zlatibor in the United Arab Emirates in the fields of sports, medical, and children's tourism. Topics on the agenda also included environmental protection, sustainable development, and investments. Contacts were established with sports camps in Abu Dhabi and Dubai, as well as agencies interested in expanding their market to Serbia and Zlatibor. We were guests of the football champions of Dubai, managed by celebrated Serbian experts. Discussions were held with eminent managers of elite UAE restaurants on enhancing the hospitality sector and sharing experiences that could be implemented as a practice between the two destinations. One of the most impressive experiences was the visit to the Sustainable City, which has achieved sustainability in environmental, economic, and energy terms, as well as the Global Village fair where all countries of the world are represented during the six winter months.

The visit of business partners from Dubai is planned to be realized by the end of the year. It is also planned that the first event to showcase the potencial of Zlatibor region is scheduled for February.
