What's On This Summer at the Gold Gondola?

Cinema under the Stars, Meteor Shower Night and the Gondola Ethno Vibe Festival

This summer, the Gold Gondola's middle station by Ribnica Lake is becoming a new destination for relaxation, outdoor experiences and memorable events in nature.

From a morning coffee beside the lake to evenings beneath the stars on Tornik Peak, the Gold Gondola has created a summer programme that transforms nature into the perfect setting for unforgettable experiences.

Visitors are invited to slow down, breathe in the fresh mountain air and discover Zlatibor from a different perspective through experiences that connect people with nature, local traditions and moments of peace and inspiration.

At the heart of this year's summer programme is the middle station by Ribnica Lake, which is evolving into a vibrant meeting place for relaxation and outdoor enjoyment. Surrounded by pine forests and beautiful lakeside scenery, the area now features an expanded Gondola Bar with a new selection of freshly squeezed juices, natural ice cream and refreshing drinks, a landscaped lakeside relaxation area and a new woodland playground designed for younger visitors. It is the perfect place to unwind on warm summer days while also serving as the starting point for many of the season's signature events.

Visitors looking for a creative escape can take part in Brush & Sip, held every Friday and Saturday throughout July and August. These relaxed workshops combine painting and ceramic decorating in a unique natural setting, offering the perfect opportunity to create, unwind and enjoy the beauty of Zlatibor.

As the sun sets behind the mountain peaks, the middle station transforms into Cinema under the Stars. Screenings will take place on 18 and 25 July, and 2 and 15 August, surrounded by pine forests, the peaceful sounds of Ribnica Lake and an atmosphere that can only be experienced in nature. This year's programme includes Hajduk in Belgrade, Sports Heart, The New Žika Dynasty, while the title of the feature-length animated film will be announced at a later date.

Summer continues high above Zlatibor as well. Every Thursday throughout July and August, the Gondola Bar at Tornik Peak will host live daytime music performances, offering spectacular panoramic views across Zlatibor and the surrounding mountains while creating a relaxed mountain atmosphere for visitors of all generations.

Laughter will also fill the middle station this summer. On 26 July, the chamber cabaret performance Cabaret Kapor will be staged as part of the Cabaret of Zlatibor Folk Humour, bringing an evening of humour, emotion and the unmistakable perspective of celebrated Serbian writer Momo Kapor. Inspired by his book A Guide to the Serbian Mentality, the performance takes audiences through a series of amusing yet thought-provoking stories in which everyone is likely to recognise a little of themselves.

The highlight of the summer season will be the Gondola Ethno Vibe Festival, taking place on 8 and 9 August, when the middle station will become a vibrant meeting place celebrating heritage, music, art and contemporary creativity. The festival will bring together chefs, artisans, artists and small local producers, showcasing the richness of traditional craftsmanship, regional gastronomy and modern creativity inspired by local heritage.

The festival experience will continue beyond the main programme, with the middle station hosting a five-day open-air market from 8 to 12 August, featuring traditional food, handcrafted products, artisan goods and original works by local artists.

One of the most anticipated evenings of the summer will be Meteor Shower Night on 12 August. Visitors will enjoy a special night-time gondola ride to Tornik Peak to witness the spectacular Perseid meteor shower from one of Serbia's most breathtaking viewpoints, far away from city lights beneath Zlatibor's crystal-clear night sky.

Children's artwork inspired by nature has become part of the official Gold Gondola collection and a symbol of the company's core values—creativity, authenticity and a close connection with nature. The new Gondola Shop collection was unveiled during a fashion show in King's Square before being presented in the Gold Gondola showroom. Highlights include T-shirts featuring the winning artwork from the Connecting with Nature Through the Eyes of Children competition. Alongside the T-shirts, the collection also includes a range of souvenirs inspired by Zlatibor's landscapes and natural beauty, all available as part of the permanent Gondola Shop collection.

From creative workshops and Cinema under the Stars, to live music, festivals, art and peaceful moments beside Ribnica Lake, this year's Gold Gondola programme has been carefully designed to reconnect visitors with nature and inspire them to experience summer at a slower, more meaningful pace.
