Pink October on the Gondola

Fight against breast cancer, organized by JP “Gold gondola Zlatibor”, on Saturday, October 14 in Tornik. Gold Gondola, in cooperation with the Užice Counseling Center “Jefimija”, the Serbian Forum against Breast Cancer “Europa Dona Serbia” hosted women who defeated this disease. After riding the longest gondola in the world, the brave ladies were organized to socialize at the end of the gondola where they enjoyed a relaxing treatment and the most beautiful view from Zlatibor.

Gold Gondola, as a socially responsible company, wants to draw the public’s attention to the importance of community support for women struggling with this disease, as well as the importance of recognition and prevention in order to increase the chances of them emerging as winners from this fight.

 PE “Gold Gondola Zlatibor” continuously promotes healthy lifestyles that are an integral part of our annual calendar of activities for which we are recognizable. Staying in nature is the need of an increasing number of people, and everyone already knows how much nature has a healing effect. We tried our best to provide our guests with a day on the gondola that will relax and strengthen them in their everyday life. In addition to riding the longest gondola in the world, we have prepared a BARS relaxation treatment and sweet snacks for them, and here on the spot they will also receive all professional information and exchange experiences with other women. This is already the second year that the gondola has marked the month of the fight against breast cancer and it will surely become a tradition in the coming years because we want to use the influence as a socially responsible company and send a message to the public that we fight together and win together”, said the director of JP “Gold” gondola Zlatibor” Bojana Božanić.

The guests received informative material and expert advice from women from the Forum “Europe Dona Serbia” and the Užice Counseling Center “Jefimija” along with an exchange of experiences.

“Empowering women in the process of diagnosis and treatment is of great importance so that they can go through it faster and easier.” You cannot heal the body if you do not heal the soul and we insist on that– that there is no duality of emotions in relation to the body. The disease returns if you don’t change the way you look at yourself, and that’s why our task is that, when you get out of physical recovery, women put themselves first, and in that way, their environment also changes. This diagnosis is not a tragedy, it is a ticket to change life”, said the president of “Jefimije” and the vice-president of EDS Slavica Simić.

“Pink October on the Gondola” is at the same time a promotion and the start of the project “Breast cancer can be prevented and cured” supported by the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Serbia, and implemented by “Europa Dona Serbia” and the Serbian Cancer Society.

“It is very important to work on preventing the occurrence of breast cancer, as well as detecting it in the initial phase when it is curable. Every woman can, through her lifestyle, reduce the risk of disease, primarily through diet, physical activity and a life without alcohol and tobacco smoke. For example, an hour and a half of vigorous walking per week reduces the risk of breast cancer by about 30 percent. “Genetics is a factor we cannot influence, but that’s why we can find out in time whether a woman is susceptible to the onset of the disease in order to prevent it in the initial phase,” said EDS President Mirjana Bagić Marković.

Breast cancer is the most common malignant tumor in women both in the world and in our country. According to the Public Health Calendar, October is observed as International Breast Cancer Awareness Month. This year, JP “Gold gondola Zlatibor” joined this campaign, which is celebrated in many countries of the world, in order to draw attention to the spread of this disease, raising awareness of the importance of prevention and early detection of breast cancer.
